Unlikely Santa will be visiting Grassley this year

Just as Santa Claus delivers presents to the good children of the world, in European folklore there is a character called Krampus that gives the naughty ones their just desserts. In some traditions, Krampus captures the naughty boys and girls and eats them or even drags them down to hell.

Lucky for Chuck Grassley, Krampus is just a myth. People want to be able to trust their elected officials to do the right thing, which we unfortunately cannot do with Grassley. He sold his soul to Big Pharma long ago at the cost of Iowans’ lives. Pharmaceutical corporations have no business setting the prices or getting monopoly control over treatments and medicines that save lives if received and take lives if made unaffordable and unattainable.

Grassley has offered piecemeal solutions on drug prices, but they don’t become law because they were never meant to. It is just something to put on his campaign literature to fraudulently say, “look I tried.” The Senate is controlled by greedy ne’er-do-wells who work at the behest of special interest. Not the people that they are supposed to represent. I have a suspicion that Santa won’t be visiting the Grassley household this year.
